Nomad Notes – DJ Rider

(Technical & Hospitality Requirements)

 

1. Introduction

This DJ Rider outlines the technical, logistical, and hospitality requirements necessary for Nomad Notes (“DJ,” “we,” “our”) to provide professional DJ entertainment services. These requirements ensure a safe, efficient, and high‑quality performance. By booking DJ services, the client (“Client”) agrees to the terms outlined in this Rider.

2. Performance Space Requirements

Client must provide a safe and adequate performance area that meets the following minimum standards:

  • Space: Minimum 8 ft x 6 ft area for DJ table, speakers, and equipment.

  • Surface: Level, stable, and free of hazards.

  • Shelter: For outdoor events, DJ must be fully protected from sun, rain, wind, and extreme temperatures.

  • Access: Clear path for load‑in and load‑out of equipment.

Nomad Notes reserves the right to decline setup if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.

3. Electrical Requirements

Client must ensure the venue provides:

  • Two (2) dedicated 15‑amp circuits within 10 feet of the DJ setup

  • Standard 120V grounded outlets

  • No shared circuits with catering, lighting, or other high‑draw equipment

  • Safe cable routing to prevent tripping hazards

If electrical conditions are unsafe or insufficient, performance may be delayed or canceled without refund.

4. Equipment Provided by Nomad Notes

Nomad Notes typically provides:

  • Professional DJ controller or mixer

  • Laptop and DJ software

  • PA speakers and stands

  • Microphones (wired or wireless)

  • Basic dance‑floor lighting (if included in package)

  • All necessary cables and accessories

Additional equipment may be available upon request and may incur additional fees.

5. Equipment Requirements from Client or Venue

Client or venue must provide:

  • One (1) sturdy table (6 ft preferred) or DJ booth

  • Adequate lighting for safe setup and breakdown

  • Secure storage area for equipment cases during the event

  • Parking access close to the venue for loading equipment

If a table is not provided, Nomad Notes may supply one for an additional fee.

6. Setup & Sound Check

  • DJ requires 60–90 minutes for setup prior to event start time.

  • Sound check will occur once equipment is fully set up.

  • Client must ensure venue access at least 2 hours before the event.

  • Delays caused by venue access may shorten performance time without refund.

7. Performance Conditions

Nomad Notes reserves the right to pause or stop performance if:

  • Conditions become unsafe

  • Guests tamper with or damage equipment

  • Venue violates noise ordinances

  • Electrical supply becomes unstable

  • Weather threatens equipment (outdoor events)

Client is responsible for preventing guest interference with DJ equipment.

8. Music Requests & Programming

  • Client may submit a playlist or preferred genres in advance.

  • Day‑of requests will be honored when appropriate and feasible.

  • DJ retains discretion over music selection to maintain flow, safety, and professional standards.

9. Hospitality Requirements

To ensure a safe and comfortable working environment, Client agrees to provide:

  • Bottled water for the DJ

  • A chair nearby (not used during performance, but available)

  • Meal for events exceeding 4 hours (optional but appreciated)

  • Breaks for events exceeding 5 hours (10–15 minutes)

These are standard industry expectations and help maintain performance quality.

10. Liability & Damages

Client is responsible for any damage to DJ equipment caused by:

  • Guests

  • Children

  • Venue staff

  • Environmental hazards

Nomad Notes is not liable for venue restrictions, guest misconduct, or equipment damage caused by third parties.

11. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Deposits are non‑refundable.

  • Cancellations within 30 days of the event are non‑refundable.

  • Weather‑related cancellations for outdoor events do not qualify for refunds.

  • Rescheduling is subject to availability and may incur additional fees.

12. Governing Law

This Rider is governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
