1. Introduction

These Notary Requirements outline the standards, identification rules, and legal limitations applicable to notarial acts performed by Nomad Notes (“Notary,” “we,” “our”). By requesting notary services, the client (“Client”) agrees to comply with these requirements.

2. Identification Requirements

Clients must present valid, unexpired, government‑issued identification, such as:

• Texas driver’s license

• State ID

• U.S. passport

• Military ID

• Permanent resident card

Identification must contain a photograph, physical description, and signature.

3. Document Requirements

Documents must be:

• Complete and free of blank spaces

• In a language the Notary can read

• Signed in the Notary’s presence when required (e.g., jurats)

• Presented in original form (no photocopies for certain acts)

The Notary may not notarize incomplete or altered documents.

4. No Legal Advice

Nomad Notes does not provide legal advice. Notaries are prohibited from:

• Interpreting documents

• Advising on legal rights

• Explaining legal consequences

• Preparing legal documents (unless licensed to do so)

Clients are responsible for understanding their documents.

5. Refusal of Service

The Notary may refuse service if:

• Identification is insufficient

• The signer appears coerced or unaware

• The document is incomplete

• The act violates Texas notary law

• The signer is not physically present

• The Notary suspects fraud

6. Recordkeeping

Certain notarial acts require journal entries. Records may not be deleted upon client request and may be retained as required by Texas law.

7. Fees

Notary fees are non‑refundable once the service is performed. Travel fees or mobile notary fees may apply and will be disclosed in advance.

8. Governing Law

These requirements are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
